Disciple of Jesus Christ
Jesus speaks to us by His Word as the Spirit gives us understanding. The Lord has given us Genesis through Revelation. We are transformed in our thoughts and understanding and in our faith and behavior by learning the Word of God and trusting and obeying, by His grace; by the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit.
Every issue of life ought to be faced by first asking, “What does the Bible say?” Our priorities in life ought to be according to Genesis through Revelation as applied through the New Testament. Our personal relationship with Jesus, as His disciple ought to be lived out in the context of being the Church together, the Bride, His Body.
Deny my self, pick up my cross and follow Jesus
Trust and Obey
Learn Genesis through Revelation
Walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh
Walk by faith and not by sight
In the world but not of the world
To live is Christ, to die is gain
Rejoice always, pray continually
Assemble with the saints, where two or three are gathered…

What does Romans 13 require?
How are some professing Christians twisting Romans 13 to say things it does not say?
Do we have our greatest effect by being like the world or different from the world?
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
As followers of Jesus…
We are called to take the hit
The cheap shot
The misrepresentation
The propaganda
My Jesus I Love Thee
I love Thee in life, I will love Thee in death, and praise Thee as long as Thou lendeth me breath;
and say when the death-dew lies cold on my brow; if ever I loved Thee, My Jesus ‘tis now.
Adoniram J. Gordon
Among the beloved Hymns sung at Belmont Terrace
I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?
Job 31:1
“Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” Titus 2:12-14
“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20

"To Be My Disciple"
Matthew 16:24-26
A Wise Man & A Fool
Correct a wise man and he becomes wiser; but a fool hates correction.
See Proverbs 1:5, 9:8-9, 15:5, 17:10, 23:9
[Lord Jesus, please help me not to be a fool.]
For the “Great Leader”
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
Proverbs 16:32
Counterfeit Christs: Is your pastor a one-man show?
Nothing can happen to us…
Unless the Lord allows it.
And if He allows it…
Then He has a purpose for it…
For our good and His glory.
(see Romans 8:28, James 1:2-4, John 16:33, Hebrews 11)

The Prayer of Jehoshaphat
“… for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.”

Christian Cheap Shots:
“You’re a legalist and a Pharisee!”
“You’re licentious and don’t care about truth!”
And nobody even tries to speak the truth in love…

Legalism – Licentiousness
